A downloadable game

Hello and Welcome in HELLevator.

PITCH

Playing as an elevator? Meh. Controlling an elevator in Hell? Ha? Leading little business demons to the correct floor? Uhuh, tell me more! With a real-life pulley? YEAAA- wait what? And be quick and precise, cause Satan won't wait for you nor the demons to arrive...

HELLevator is a scoring game, try to get as far as you can before Satan fires you for being too slow. And if you wiggle too much, some demons might be lost forever in the flood of Phlegethon...

HOW TO PLAY

Take or make your own pulley at home to play the game. Or if you're a lucky one, play with our installation. ðŸ˜ˆ

Installation Blueprint

The player holds a pulley where a joy-con is attached. An encoder is recording the rotation of the pulley and sends it to an Arduino board which is linked to the computer. A screen where the game is displayed behind everything.

But why 2 different encoders you may ask?

Well, the rotatory encoder sends the "height" of the pulley to the game while the Joy-Con handles the "wiggle" which makes the in-game elevator highly sensitive to your moves.

Great but what's the goal?

Bring as many demons as you can to the correct floor and hope that you will be fast enough to please Satan and their corporation.

You can play with your hands to grab the rope or, even better, attach the rope to a part of your body and move closer or further to the screen.

And once you're equipped, just have fun in Hell!

Now, there's still a few rules you need to know...

Or you can just skip it if you want to discover by yourself!

- You can only take one demon at the same time in the elevator

- Some demons are  ✨ shiny ✨ and are more valuable than the other ones (5 pts instead of 1 pt)

- You can kill a demon by wiggling the elevator too much (it makes the elevator available again for another demon if necessary)

- You lose if there is too many demons waiting on the same floor (more than 3)
